Journey is just creeping up on my favorite videos games list.
I swear, I just hear that cello note at the very beginning, when I turn on the game, and I get all excited and nervous.
It has to be the fact that I meet so many awesome people while playing. When someone shows you something you’d never seen before, or when you’re the one helping someone else. Yesterday I was playing to kill time (which turned into more than that, naturally) and had two incidents where I thought I’d finally found someone to make it to the end of the game with me — one of them the first white coat I’ve ever met, it was ridiculously exciting — but one rage-quit after the first monster experience (Am I the only one who loses most of their partners there?), the second one, the white coat, I lost after they tried to show me a short cut at the beginning of the snow world, but I couldn’t make it up without them coming back down. I don’t think they realized that, because we spent about three minutes running back and forth, me calling out like a crazy-cloth-thing.
But then I met my last partner just after that. They were a newbie, so I tried to show them how not to get eaten by the monsters.
Naturally, one caught me.
But he came running after me, waited for me to get up, and he went to the end with me. First time anyone’s stuck with me that long. :)I aaaaalmost considered sending him a friend request, but I decided not to scare the newbie away.
And you know what, I think I’ll go play it again.
I swear, it makes me more and more determined to write for video games. If only I could get a grip on where to begin. OH WELL, back to my novels and my PS3.
